Anita Hutchins

Anita and daughter, Jaz are the driving force behind Jhayhlyn Park Performance Horses located in Sassafras, Tasmania. Both ladies are very passionate about producing quality, versatile performance horses and have access to some of the best bloodlines in the world.

In Anita's own words:

 I have been involved in horses from a very young age. Both my Father and Grandfather were champion showjumpers. During my childhood years, I wasn’t really interested in Pony Club or Competitions, I just loved riding the trails around home. I became involved in Endurance in 1996 (I was still very young haha) and from there, have never looked back.

During the early stages of my career, I rode my own horses, being guided by the true Endurance Legend Claude Filluel. I then branched out and started riding for other stables throughout Tasmania, one of them being Malricia Arabians, gaining more knowledge and experience from Dickie Lamprey.

Working as a Vet Nurse part-time, I also managed to train weekly with Allan and Tracey Wyllie (AT Dial Range Arabians) who gave me the opportunity to travel to Dubai in 2018 where I was lucky enough to train some amazing horses.

During my career, I have also been lucky enough to achieve 5 Quilty Buckles and have successfully completed 22 x 160km Endurance rides.

My main aim for the continuation of my Endurance career is to work with my daughter Jaz educating and qualifying our own young horses and build on my 160km completions.
