Jaz Hutchins

Jaz and Mum, Anita are the driving duo behind Jhayhlyn Park Performance Horses located in Sassafras, Tasmania. Both ladies are very passionate about producing quality, versatile performance horses and have access to some of the best bloodlines in the world.

In Jaz's own words:

My love for horses began with my very first pony (from Santa Clause of course) at the age of 2 and that was where the addiction began.

My Mother and Grandfather introduced me to the sport of endurance and by the age of 7, I began competing on my 12hh pony and I was completely hooked. I then went on to complete my first 160km ride when I was 9 years old and have never looked back.

I have been fortunate enough to have had help from many amazing mentors along the way including my Mum, Anita and the late Dickie Lamprey of Malricia Arabians with both of them being my biggest supporters and inspirations.

I have also been given many amazing opportunities to have partnered with some incredible horses from multiple stables along the way which has helped me gain the knowledge and confidence that I have today.

As an Equine Veterinary Nurse, I am able to spend each day caring for and furthering my knowledge of horses and their health and performance (what an amazing job!!)  This has helped me immensely in understanding the requirements of high performing horses and how to help them look and feel their absolute best.

My true passion lies in breeding and producing quality, versatile performance Arabians and Derivatives from our family hobby farm, Jhaylyn Park which I hope will continue to flourish and expand in the years to come.

I look forward to seeing what my future holds and cross my fingers for a safe and successful 2024 season smashing goals and looking good in the gear from Equistash (of course!)
